Look at the distance from his wrist to his first knuckle. I bet a lot of these guys are good at hand stands too.
Some Supershow footage of Dazed and Confused with improv. Sometimes I have doubts about Led Zeppelin and then I see something like this. Jimmy Page wasn't just a producer. He shreds.

Guitar Lesson 1: Have big hands
After reading a misquote of Stevie Ray Vaughn attributing his guitar playing talent to having big hands, I began to be curious about the effect of this physical oddity upon guitar talent. I immediately looked at the cover of the Robert Johnson box set, pictures of Jimmy Hendrix, and documentary footage of John Lee Hooker. My suspicions were confirmed. Their hands were huge.
